Deep dive 2023 Memorial 5k

The Combat Diver Foundation and the Flora-Bama Lounge are happy to present the Deep Dive 2023 Memorial 5k in memory of Staff Sergeant James Moriarty. Jimmy was a Combat Diver and Dive Supervisor. His life had impacts far beyond his immediate circle and we think that's history worth preserving. Join us at Deep Dive 2023 as we celebrate his life and career. 

The Deep Dive 2023 Memorial 5k is part of the larger Deep Dive 2023 Combat Diver Reunion and Fundraiser. In addition to the 5k, we'll have a charity dinner, live music, lots of amazing prizes, a display of Combat Diver gear, and an awesome Combat Diver demonstration! Runners will receive free tickets to participate in the auction and raffle just for registering!

The 5 km route begins and ends on the beach at the Flora-Bama Lounge. The entire run/walk will take place on the Florida side of the state line (virtual participation is available).

The race package ($49.99 early bird pricing) includes:

• Deep Dive 2023 Event T-shirt 
• Race bib (contains the timing device)
• Deep Dive 2023 auction ticket and instructions (online)
• Deep Dive 2023 raffle ticket (must be present to win)
• Food and drink tickets for the post-race buffet at Flora-Bama

• 19 June: Race packets will start going out by mail to virtual runners
• 3 July: Virtual run window opens
• 4 August 4-6 PM: First packet pick-up at Flora-Bama
• 5 August 6:45 AM: Second packet pick-up at Flora-Bama
• 7:30 AM: Opening Ceremony
• 8 AM: Race begins
• 10 AM: Race awards ceremony

 Awards will go to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in each of the following brackets:  

• 5k run (men's)
• 5k run (women's)
• 5k speed walk (men's)
• 5k speed walk (women's)

*IMPORTANT: Speed walkers are NOT allowed to run at any point during the course.
If you are planning to walk but don't feel like competing please register for the 5K run registration option. 

The Deep Dive 2021 Memorial 5k is open to virtual runners. The virtual run window opens on 3 July. Upload instructions can be found here: How to Upload Your Virtual Results

Race shirts are only available in "orange" in the unisex style. Availability could force us to substitute with charcoal colored shirts.
